The San Marcos City Cemetery, founded in 1874, is located on 45 acres at 1001 Ranch Road 12 in San Marcos and is the burial ground for many Texas pioneers and veterans dating back to the War of 1812.
According to Vasquez-Philo, the San Pedro Cemetery gets its name from the original founder, Pedro Carrillo, according to old records held by Mrs. Elena Carillo Contreras, a granddaughter. Please note: This cemetery is not owned, managed or maintained by the City of San Marcos.
