Volunteers make important contributions to basic library programs and services. Library volunteers repair books, tutor adults, read at childcare centers, teach computer classes, and assist with the Friends of the Library used book sales.

Computer Class Volunteers

The library needs volunteer tutors to help teach our popular computer classes:

  • Internet/Computer Basics
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Word
  • Smart phone and tablet instruction

Tutors work with a team to provide self-paced, small group instruction. Classes meet on Wednesdays from 10 to 11:00 a.m.

Daycare Storytime Volunteers

The San Marcos Public Library is looking for volunteers who would enjoy sharing their love of children's books with kids in the childcare centers of San Marcos. Each volunteer spends one morning a week reading to three and four year old kids in one childcare center. To join the library's group of readers, call Suzanne Sanders at 512-393-8200.

If you'd like to volunteer, you may download the volunteer application (PDF) or pick up a copy on your next visit to the San Marcos Library.
