Codes and Ordinances

Codes and ordinances establish provisions that adequately protect public health, safety, and welfare.  The codes address structural strength, means of egress, sanitation, adequate lighting and ventilation, accessibility, energy conservation, and life safety in regard to new and existing buildings, facilities, and systems.

Permits are examined for compliance with the requirements of these codes and other pertinent laws or ordinances.  To schedule an appointment or to speak with a Fire Marshal Inspector about your project, please call 512-805-2600 or email the Fire Marshals Office.
