Administrative Commander

Commander Leonard has been a member of the San Marcos Police Department since 1996. Prior to his tenure with the PD, Commander Leonard attended Coastal Bend College where he received an Associate’s Degree in Law Enforcement and obtained his Peace Officer License. In 1994 He transferred to Texas State University, soon graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Commander Leonard promoted to Corporal in 2005, Sergeant in 2010 and Commander in 2014. Commander Leonard  has worked in Community Policing, Patrol and Currently in Administration. Commander Leonard holds a Master Peace Officer Certification.
