Junior Fire Academy

Junior Fire Academy day camp is a chance for children to learn about some of the daily operations of the San Marcos Fire Department and have some fun in the process. The program is open to boys and girls in elementary and middle school.  It gives children an opportunity to interact with San Marcos firefighters and make friends with positive role models. The mission of the day camp is to instill camaraderie, servant-leadership, teamwork, self-confidence and citizenship.

Children are introduced to the different facets of firefighting and the equipment used in daily operations by members of the fire department. All campers receive a t-shirt, lunch and snacks free of charge.

Junior Fire Academy - Summer of 2021

JFA 2021:  Cancelled

The City of San Marcos and San Marcos Fire Department have been closely following the progression of the COVID-19 pandemic since it began. The safety of you, your family, and the public we serve are our priority. We feel that it would be morally and ethically irresponsible to hold Junior Fire Academy this year. This is a program that we look forward to every year and we’re looking forward to holding this academy next year when conditions are safer for all. Thank you for your understanding and be safe out there!

A BIG thank you to State Farm for sponsoring our 2019 camp!
