Gary Job Corps Center

Gary Job Corps Center: Job Corps is a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor to help young people ages 16-24 improve their lives and careers.

Gary Job Corps opened in 1965 a few months after President Lyndon Johnson announced at his alma mater his goal to create a Job Corps to help young people "contribute to the prosperity of the community, to ultimately become leaders of their fellow men." Founded at the site of a World War II Air Force Training Base, Gary Job Corps has the largest GED program in Texas and offers 20 career technical training opportunities.
